The Beginning
A tragedy that became an inspiration
FXB Suraksha carries the name of Francois-Xavier Bagnoud, a young helicopter pilot, who specialised in rescue operations. He lost his life at a very young age of 24 years during a helicopter-borne rescue mission in Mali.
The death of her only son proved to be the turning point in the life for his mother Countess Albina du Boisrouvray, a well-known journalist and film maker.
In 1989, Countess Albina du Boisrouvray founded the Association Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB) an international non-governmental Organization (NGO), - now known as Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) International - to carry on the compassion and generosity that guided Francois life. As the Chief Patron, Countess Albina du Boisrouvray supports FXB Suraksha in its endeavour to support vulnerable children.
