Mr Gauri Shankar Ghosh and Mr Javed Ahmed Chowdhary, two seasoned individuals who had distinguished careers in the Indian Administrative Service and committed themselves to social improvement formed FXBIS. In order to support impacted families and orphans during the HIV/AIDS pandemic, they founded FXBIS, motivated by a thorough understanding of public health systems.
After an initial phase of operation, FXBIS undertook a critical period of consolidation. Through honest internal reflection and field-based learning, the organization recognised that addressing isolated issues across a wide geography was limiting its overall impact. The realization that long-lasting transformation necessitates assisting entire families and communities rather than specific issues in isolation was profound.
